Each year, the Smoky Mountains website shares an interactive fall foliage map that shows when each area of the country can expect to see fall colors.
You'll want to head over and check the map out for yourself, but we've picked a few key dates to share for Kentucky. By the end of September, as shown above, far eastern Kentucky can expect to see some fall color in the trees.
As we move into mid-October, the entire state will see hues of red, orange, and yellow.
This would be a great time of year to plan an outing in Kentucky to witness the fall colors.

By October 26th, most of the state will be at peak or just past peak.
This would be a great time to head west to Kentucky Lake or Land Between the Lakes to see the colors near peak in this area of our state.
And then just like that, right after Halloween around November 2nd, most of the colorful leaves will be finding their way to the ground.
Get out those rakes and enjoy the weather, because winter is right around the corner.
And every once in awhile, these two seasons collide in late fall and we see both colorful fall foliage and snow.
