If you're a history buff and love learning about other cultures. make sure to visit the small town of Wilson. Based in the Heartlands of Kansas, Wilson is a charming town rich in Czech culture due to it being a destination where immigrants settled in the 1870s.
Nowadays, about 14 percent of Wilson's population claims to be of Czech descent. Because of the town's strong connection to its Czech heritage, Wilson holds its annual After Harvest Czech Festival. And, as you'll soon read, there are other destinations throughout the town that add to its rich history and culture too.
It'll take about two hours to reach Wilson if you're coming from either Topeka or Wichita.
Based in Ellsworth County, Wilson has a population of approximately 1,000 people.
As you can see from this photo, one of the biggest attractions in Wilson is the largest Czech egg in the world. Along with its distinct Czech design, the egg is 20 feet tall!
When you explore Wilson, make sure to check out this 19th-century jail made of limestone.
