There’s A Small Town In Kansas Known For Its Truly Epic Burgers
It’s no secret that Kansas is full of amazing eateries as far as you can see. Each and every town with restaurants serves great food, you just have to look in the right place. In this small town, however, some of the most epic burgers in the state are served up every day. Come check it out!
Kansas is full of wonderful small towns, but have you ever heard of Smith Center?
It's a tiny town with a population of around 1,700 people. It was founded in 1871, but it's been a pretty quiet town its whole life.
They're a close-knit community where you always know your neighbor.
They're proud of being the heart of the Nation, and a shining example of what it's like to live in a small town in the Heartland. However, they've got one big claim to fame that's a big reason for noticing them.
They have some of the best burgers in Kansas, all from this one joint.
Jiffy Burger is a town staple, styled after a 1950's restaurant devoted after many of the stars in that era. However, a good portion of the restaurant is taken over by Marilyn Monroe alone.
There's plenty to choose from, so don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone a little bit.
Nearly half of the menu is reserved for different ice cream dishes, but there's also plenty of sandwiches and combos to choose form as well. I personally recommend the fried cheese curds and onion petals for sides, but the burgers are absolutely amazing, and the sole reason why they stand above the rest.
They're open seven days a week, 11am to 9pm.
It's worth the drive out here, and you can plan for a whole day's visit around the town, exploring what it has to offer and visiting with the people who live here every day. Who knows, maybe it's going to be your next favorite place? Either way, it belongs on every Kansan's bucket list, to try at least once or twice.
Make sure you stop for a bite when you see this sign!
Here’s a handy map to help you find Smith Center, or you can find it north of Great Bend along US hwy 281. Happy travels!Afterwards, don’t be afraid to check out some other great Kansas locations,
like this BBQ joint in Williamsburg you’re sure to love.
