Are you ready to walk on the weird side? Kansas is home to a number of crazy things, including giant butter sculptures at the State Fair, and the rare six legged cow, (or was it a goat?) but there's never really been a catch-all place to get those odd gifts for your weird friends---until now.
Introducing the wonderfully odd (and a little crazy) store named Noir Arts and Oddities. They carry everything, and I mean everything you'd want. The front of the store is a little more plain than you'd expect, but hey, just wait and see.
If you've ever been in need of a giraffe skull or preserved animal in a bottle, here's your stop.
Preserved specimens? Maybe not for the kids, but your odd uncle? It might be perfect!
Though they do have a lot of creepy things, the crawlies are some of my personal favorites. Butterflies in glass can be the perfect gift for someone who doesn't seem to want anything for their birthday.
This piece is legendary, a preserved skeleton of conjoined twins. Talk about a talking piece! (Hopefully they don't talk, though.)
They also have a collection of historical items, mostly medical in use. They've also got books, art, and many other things to suit your fancy, no matter how crazy.
Don't get upset at the address, they're right by the Kansas border in Kansas City, so there's no reason we can't claim them as our own too! It's Kansas City after all, isn't it? The shop sits at 1609 W 39th St.
If you're looking for something a little less weird and more old, check out this giant antique mall!
