Since I am a work-from-home-writer-mamma, I consider locally owned coffeehouses to be my go-to when I need a break from my regular office (AKA, our guest room.) Fortunately, the Sunflower State is home to many of these charming and delicious coffeehouses, including:
1. Union Station Coffee & Roasterie (Hays)
One of the newest coffeehouses in Kansas is also one of the best with its freshly roasted coffee, homemade treats and homey atmosphere!
2. Patrick Dugan's Coffee House (Garden City)
If you think Patrick Dugan's coffee tastes different, you're right! It's different because this cozy little shop uses only the finest coffee around and serves it all in pre-heated ceramic cups. I can taste the sweet espresso already...
3. Espresso Etc. (Russell)
Come for the Butterscotch Mocha; stay for the Peach Pie Cupcakes!
4. Aimee's Coffeehouse (Lawrence)
Aimee's is truly a feast for the senses with its divine drinks, killer breakfast options and colorful art pieces adorning the stone walls.
5. Radina's Coffeehouse & Roastery (Manhattan)
Go ahead; visit one of the three Manhattan locations for a cup of handcrafted coffee and then venture to the other two for gelato and pastries!
6. R Coffee House (Wichita)
Mmm...I can smell the sweet aroma of the freshly ground coffee through the screen!
7. BrewCo. Coffeehouse (El Dorado)
If I could only have one meal every day for the rest of my life, it would be an Americano and this Mocha Toffeenut Cupcake from BrewCo.
8. Blackdog Coffee House (Lenexa)
Why have plain Jane coffee and toast at home when you can get perfectly crafted coffee and Rosemary Olive Oil Bread with fig jam, cream cheese and butter from Blackdog?
9. Revocup (Overland Park)
Feel good while you sip your Revocup; the company gives back 10 cents for every cup of coffee and $1.00 for every pound of coffee sold to the hardworking coffee bean farmers!
10. Great Bend Coffee Company (Great Bend)
Want to know what cures the Monday blues? A Mocha Frappuccino from Great Bend Coffee, of course!
