The Amazing Farm In Kansas That Will Take You Back In Time This Spring
Spring is almost settled in, and it’s finally time to get out and explore more of our beautiful state. However, today’s destination isn’t all natural, but definitely entertains people of all ages. This amazing place in Kansas is chock full of family fun, and more than worth the travel if you’ve been waiting to check out other places in the area. Today we head to northeast Kansas and to one of my favorite family places. What are you waiting for? Let’s go!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Most of the farm imitates life in a turn-of-the-century style schoolhouse, farm, and blacksmith.

Beautiful scenery is there to greet you at every corner, as long as you're not too distracted by adorable farm animals.

Bottle feeding a goat is an experience most kids (or adults) won't forget. Plus, seeing the animals on an old-fashioned farm instead of the zoo is a great change of scenery.

Not that electronics are bad, but I'd love to see more kids learning how a waterspout works.

Can you imagine using slate instead of paper, or needing someone to handcraft a new part for your vehicle? The mini town inside these gates makes you wonder how life was when everything was much simpler.

Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, with $2 admission. On Monday through Thursday afternoons, you can get in for free from 3 p.m. to close! The season runs from April 2 until Halloween.
You’ll find Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead at 13800 Switzer Road in Overland Park.
If you love family trips, but you’re looking for something a little more odd, check out this place called “Truckhenge” right over by Topeka.
