Glamping: Have you ever heard of it? If you haven’t, it is defined as “glamorous camping” (get it?) and consists of enjoying the great outdoors via luxurious accommodations. If you know me in real life, you know that the closest I’ll get to “roughing it” in the great outdoors is at our family cabin (that has both indoor plumbing and electricity), so glamping is right up my alley. If you are like me in terms of camping preferences, or if you are just looking for a unique experience, you will definitely want to stay a night at Hoot Owl Hill in Paola.

“Imagine driving through a vineyard of concord grapes and butterfly gardens to arrive at your campsite overlooking a lovely river valley and rolling hills,” teases Hoot Owl Hill’s website, “entering your spacious bell tent set up with comfy inflatable beds complete with linens and cozy quilts, unique vintage furnishings, some soft, natural lighting enhancing the beautiful color of the tent.” In addition to the traditional tents pictured, Hoot Owl now offers the HOot HOuse; a large, wall-tent cabin that can comfortably accommodate up to 8 queen-size beds. (Family reunion, anyone?)
