If you’re in Kansas and looking for an outdoor activity that’s good for people of all different hiking levels, head to Chisholm Creek. This hike is in Chisholm Creek Park and is about a 15-minute car ride from Wichita.

The path throughout this flat 1.7-mile loop is full of many scenic surprises including a river, interesting shaped trees, wildlife, vantage points to birdwatch, and wildflowers. And, although the trail is open year-round, April through September are the best times to enjoy this relaxing hike.

Since Chisholm Creek is conveniently located off of Interstates 235 and 35, you can easily make a stop at the trail for most of the day or as part of a bigger outing.
