While Kansas isn’t necessarily known for its lush, large, and, numerous waterfalls, there are still several waterfalls that will take your breath away in the Sunflower State. Chase Lake Falls is a triple waterfall that is certainly photo-worthy. Hiking to this triple waterfall in Kansas is the perfect way to spend your day as the hike is short, the climb is easy, and the views are spectacular.
Chase Lake Falls is located at the Chase State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area near Cottonwood Falls.
These falls are part of the Chase State Fishing Lake spillway.
This means these falls are dependent upon the amount of rainfall in the area. If there has been little rain, these waterfalls may be small or you may not see them at all.
It is an easy and fast hike to reach the cascade.
You'll trek a 0.8-mile out-and-back trail that is rated as being quite easy. There is very little elevation gain, making it an enjoyable trail for the entire family.
While you’ll definitely want to reach the waterfalls, make sure you stop to take in the beauty of the area.
The views are absolutely stunning. Kansas does NOT get the credit it deserves for its beauty.
The Falls consist of three main waterfalls.
The middle waterfall is often a favorite among locals and visitors alike, as it is the most impressive.
However, the upper falls creates some beautiful scenery.
Make sure to bring your camera and a pair of water shoes to spend some time in the water.
The lower falls are an excellent location if you are looking for some peace and quiet...
