There's a lot of things to do at most nature centers, but most nature centers aren't like this one. Chaplin is a great place for those who love hiking and exploring forested areas, but they also have a beautiful staircase and huge chair to climb while you're here. If you love climbing and beautiful areas of Kansas, Chaplin Nature Center is perfect for your next trip.
Welcome to a beautiful area of Kansas called Chaplin Nature Center, a park in Ark City that's simply stunning as well as fun.
One signature area of the center is where you will have to take flights of outdoor stairs to get up or down an area. Its beautiful all the way down!
Another great thing to climb is a huge chair that could seat anyone with plenty of legroom to the ground. Really, its huge! Climbing up here is half the fun, though.
There are a couple trails in the park, and most of them loop back around to where you started, making them a little easier to follow.
Whether you are on the high side or the low side, everything here is simply beautiful. Sometimes all you need is a good bit of nature for a great day of adventure.
Spot local wildlife, explore the terrain, and get all that indoor energy outside and out of your system.
The nature center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
If you'd like to learn more about the nature center, please check out their website here, or you can follow their Facebook page.
Does your local nature center bring you hours of fun and adventure? Tell us all about it at this submission box, where we take your ideas and share them with other Kansans.
