The Old Time Candy Shoppe is the perfect place to tour for an up close and personal view of this super-sweet company. Old pictures, packaging, company artifacts, machinery, and advertising offers a solid dose of history.

Palmer's Candies started making the Twin Bing in 1923. It's still produced right here, on site, and by hand. A hash of chocolate and roasted peanuts covers cherry nougat for a unique and pleasing flavor.

They moved to this location in 2007 to offer their community a place to purchase their delicious products, learn about their history, and experience the nostalgia of their Old Time Candy Shoppe.

The company continues to grow, and is now thriving under the watchful eye of the great-great grandson of the original founder, E.C. Palmer.

He's been overseeing operations there for 18 years and is a long-time member of the Sioux City community. He's an expert on the history of the company, and he and the friendly Candy Shoppe staff love to assist visitors as they tour the Shoppe and learn about the company.

Sea Salt Caramel Hearts are a favorite. Palmer's makes the caramel on site from scratch and then carefully covers it in high quality dark chocolate. A sprinkling of flaky sea salt brings it to perfection.

This two-layered bark has a chocolate bottom and creamy white top. Peppermint flakes make it beautiful and delicious.

Corn nuts, chili crackers, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and sesame sticks covered in a secret blend of sassy spices offer balance inside this palace of sweetness.
