The season kicks off as soon as September hits, and the weather starts getting a little cooler; but it really begins in earnest as farms shift from late summer events celebrating sunflowers, along with other florals and produce, to focusing on that most fall-worthy of crops – pumpkins! It’s no surprise that the largest pumpkin patch in Iowa is found on a world-class farm: Lawton’s Scarecrow Farm, a sprawling family destination that is usually alive with a thrilling festival during its entire active season. The fall is no exception, as the massive pumpkin patch is surrounded by family-friendly attractions and delicious food and drink.
