When on the road for work or vacation, sometimes a hotel pool is the perfect place to stretch tired muscles and get some exercise. If you are traveling with a family, it also can be a great outlet to help children who have been cooped up in a car all day burn off some energy before bed. But after a while, hotel pools can all start to look the same, and you might be ready for something different – like a pool with a waterfall.
Want to try it out next time you are in northwest Iowa?
Jump in, swim to the waterfall, and notice the unique lighting behind the fall. Plunge through the descending wall of water and you will find yourself in totally different surroundings - outside in the outdoor swimming area!
Pool hours are from 6:00 a.m. for the early starters until 10:00 p.m. for the night owls. Then, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., there is an adults-only hour if you want to get a soak with a bit less noise and splashing. Last but not least, there is a hot tub for some pure relaxation.
Outside is a beautiful courtyard near the outdoor swimming area with another peaceful waterfall and pond, but this one without a surprise on the other side.
The Missouri River and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center aren’t far and there are some nice walking trails easily accessed from the hotel. The hotel is also situated adjacent to the Tyson Events Center and the Hard Rock Casino. The hotel itself has a restaurant and there is also a continental breakfast.
