The test of time. It’s a test many fail, especially in the restaurant industry. But not The Lighthouse Inn, a restaurant in Iowa that’s been going strong ever since it first opened its doors more than a century ago!

Long ago, in another era, a small inn opened its doors to travelers passing through the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. The inn provided patrons with a good meal, an alcoholic beverage (even during Prohibition!), and even the option of staying the night in one of the small cabins on the premises.

Thanks to its proximity to Chicago, it was a popular stop for Windy City land mobsters looking to hide out for a few days when things got dicey in the city. Yes, Al Capone and John Dillenger both frequented the Lighthouse Inn back in the day!
The Lighthouse Inn has changed its look a bit since 1912, but one thing hasn't changed: it still offers one of Iowa's best supper club dining experiences.

The Lighthouse Inn Supper Club is located at 6905 Mount Vernon Road SE in Cedar Rapids (you can't miss the huge lighthouse out front!). The current dining hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with plans to expand hours again soon (so check the website or Facebook page regularly for updates).
