That’s because this tourist destination transforms every year into the Pioneer Village Christmas Wonderland, the only Christmas village in Iowa and a unique destination that’s the closest thing to the Hawkeye State’s own North Pole. Kids of all ages will be won over by the many unique attractions here, and adults will be able to take in some of the most stunning sights in all of Iowa. The village runs this year for two weekends – the first and second Saturday and Sunday of December – so get in the spirit and get ready to explore Iowa’s very own Christmas wonderland!

The signature attraction here is definitely Santa's workshop, a massive building filled with everything the Jolly Old Elf would love.

The building is full of smaller vendors selling decorations and other unique items that are exactly what you need to give your house a holiday makeover.

And yes, of course Santa himself is here! One-on-one visits and photo opportunities for little ones are available on all four nights of the event.
