This is the Fort Des Moines Park Nature Trail, a 1.9-mile loop trail that takes you past beautiful waterways, charming bridges, and little slices of nature only feet from some of the city’s biggest attractions. We think it’s one of the best hikes in Iowa, and it’s an easy trail that’s just the ticket for a day of relaxation.
