It’s finally berry season in Iowa, and the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries are ripening! If you can’t get enough of these juicy fruits, it’s time to head out to one of our state’s finest farms for a day of berry picking in Iowa. Check out a few local favorites below!
1. Heartland Farm, Waterloo
Heartland Farm is a great place to pick your own fresh, gigantic strawberries! In the spring, you can also snag some tasty asparagus and Iowa Sweet Corn from this family-run farm.

2. Berry Patch Farm, Nevada
Starting in May and June, you can pick strawberries and blueberries at the Berry Patch Farm! This family-owned farm has been growing their own products for over 50 years! As July rolls around, you'll also find gooseberries, cherries and raspberries available.

3. Edge of the Woods Raspberry Farm, Indianola
From spring into summer, you can pick red and black raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and even tart pie cherries at this quaint and charming berry farm! The little country shop is a great place to pick up fresh jams, too.

4. Getting's Garden, Sanborn
Getting's Garden has three generations of history behind their growing operation - it's no wonder their strawberries are so good! Pick as many of the big juicy red ones as you can find, and shop their farm market, too. This year, they're making fresh strawberry donuts in-house!
