There’s A Sci Fi-Themed Playground And Splashpad In Indiana Called Westermeier Commons
Adventurers, ahoy! Nestled inside the friendliest town in Indiana is a wonder-filled space perfect for bringing the little ones to enjoy (and to burn off some of that ridiculous excess energy). It’s a science-fiction-themed playground in Indiana that’s sure to bring all the boys (and girls) to the (play) yard, and it’s also got its very own splash pad to boot (which makes the warmer days even more delightful, if you ask us). Come out to Carmel and check out Westermeier Commons at Central Park; it’s sure to thrill the entire family!
Let the kids take one look at the ridiculously wonderful playground at Westermeier Commons and then watch as they disappear into it immediately, off to have the time of their lives.
It's so much more than just a playground, and the futuristic, modern look isn't the only thing that draws kids and adults alike into it. It's an all-encompassing fun center smack-dab in the middle of Indiana's friendliest little town, and neither you nor the rest of the fam will be able to get over it.
There are an enormous number of amenities and fun stuff all stuffed into this one versatile place. It encompasses more than 25,000 square feet, and to say it's "big" is a bit of an understatement.
It's a huge place to play for kids and their grown-ups, with a little something for just about everyone.
Encounter all sorts of bridges, walkways, and slides, and if you're brave enough, climb the two 32-foot-tall enclosed towers like the video game hero you are. Out of the way, kids, I'm the ruler of these towers.
There are two zones for age-specific children; one is for kids aged two to five and the other is for kids aged five to 12. The rest is open to all.
If you're not too keen on exploring the playground yourself, no worries: there are more than three miles of amazing trails that lead through some truly gorgeous landscapes like prairie and wetlands to enjoy, so you could simply drop the kids off and then go enjoy some me-time instead.
There is also a splash pad, an electronic game (don't worry, it's screen-free), various tunnels and coves, hills, dots, and so much more.
This is probably the largest and most complex playground we've ever taken a look at, and we can't get enough of it. From the unique theme to the ridiculous number of things to do and everything in between, it's an experience for the entire family.
The park is open year-round, though the spashpad only operates from Memorial Day weekend until late September. It does get a little cold in the winter, after all.

Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
