The Chicago Botanic Garden is a 385-acre landscaped area that features a myriad of unique spaces that are open throughout the year.
This holiday season, there will be more than snow and ice covering the trees and walkways at this popular and beautiful attraction that is situated just north of Chicago.
Lightscape is the new holiday event that will take place November 22, 2019 through January 5, 2020 between 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
International artists are teaming up with the botanical gardens to create this holiday lights trail that will feature unique sights and sounds such as a choir of singing trees, ribbons of light, a fragrant garden of fire, and much more.
A tunnel of lights, a place to roast marshmallows, and a concession of festive foods complete the magical experience. Chili, mac and cheese, cupcakes, hot chocolate, apple cider, and much more abound.
Tickets for the event are available online, and prices vary by day and time but span between about $17 and $25 for adults and $8 and $13 for kids between the ages of 3 and 13. Those under the age of 3 are admitted for free.
If you're a member of the garden, you get to enter for a discounted price.
Tickets will sell out fast for this holiday event, so get yours while they are still available. Typically, guests only pay for parking to enter the gardens, and if you buy your ticket in advance, you can purchase a voucher for half-price parking.
