If you're searching for some last-minute Halloween activities in Illinois, look no further than this trail of orchards, festivals, tours, and other events that are fun for family and friends. Halloween will be here before you know it, and these events are certain to help you celebrate it in the most memorable ways. Check it out:
The Illinois Trail of Terror is a string of events and activities mostly taking place prior to Halloween that are all fall-themed and located in the northwest region of the state.
On any given weekend during September and October, there are a myriad of pumpkin patches, corn mazes, apple orchards, festivals, and markets to attend in this part of the state.
With the scary season coming to a close, there is just one weekend left to enjoy these Halloween activities. Other than the night of Halloween, most of the rest of the events are taking place October 26-27, 2019.
The events include tours of the little-known Havencrest Castle, which is only open at exclusive times of the year. Built as a home, this romantic and historic house is filled with artwork that is rarely seen.
Other activities include a pumpkin fest in Mount Carroll, two Halloween parades, a costume contest, and a scarecrow festival.
There's also a Spook Walk at Old Mill Park where guests are to take the haunted trails and discover the macabre scenes that await.
This final weekend of the Illinois Trail of Terror is worth coming out for whether you enjoy fairs, markets, parades, or classic pumpkin patches.
On Halloween itself, White Pines Resort will host a spooky event featuring ghost tours that are perfect for anyone looking for a fright. It is certainly the ideal end to this terrifying trail of events.
