There’s a unique little shop hiding out in eastern Idaho that is bringing back an old American tradition. Boasting delicious sodas and a nice selection of snacks, this retro soda shop is the perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a soda with friends. Established in 2013, SodaVine was born out of a desire to create a space for the community to sit down and enjoy some delicious treats while building friendships. Although a relatively recent addition to the Rexburg community, it's already become quite the hit!
The soda shop was opened by Robyn and Eric Eastin. Robyn grew up in Newdale, Idaho and had fond memories of going to Johnson Drug in Rexburg and sitting down with a good old-fashioned milkshake. It was Robyn's idea to bring a taste of the past back to Rexburg, and that's exactly what she did.
The Eastins have a special love for the time period between the 1950s and 1960s, so it seemed like the perfect theme for their new shop. With retro decor filling the walls, oldies playing in the background, and fun drink names such as Rockin' Robyn and Runaround Sue, the soda shop really does feel like a gem from the past.
The atmosphere is absolutely charming, but the treats are what keep you coming back for more. The shop offers a variety of flavored drinks, shakes, Italian ice, and custards to choose from.
Their Italian ice and custard is especially popular. Italian ice is smooth flavored ice made from real fruit and custard is extra rich, extra dense cream. Can't choose between the two? Order a Gelati, which is comprised of layers of both Italian ice and custard.
The shop also has a small selection of snacks to munch on while you sip, such as pretzels, nachos, popcorn, and cookies. Try their Oreo Pretzel for a unique treat that is bound to satisfy your sweet tooth!
