Idaho is home to some of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the Western United States. Several of these falls are located near a single city — Twin Falls. Located in southwestern Idaho, Twin Falls is the perfect place to spend a long weekend. Visit waterfalls, hike, and capture incredible views — you can do it all here. Plus, with the following vacation rental in Twin Falls, you are just steps away from it all. It is truly one of the best places to stay in Idaho.
Twin Falls is one of the larger cities in Idaho with approximately 53,000 residents. It is known as the Gateway to Snake River Canyon and is a bucket-list-worthy city for waterfall chasers and those who just want to enjoy some breathtaking views.
If you have a long weekend and are searching for an adventure, this is one city that I highly recommend. One of the most popular and highly-recommended waterfalls in the area is Shoshone Falls.
Shoshone Falls is often referred to as “The Niagara of the West" and is actually 45 feet higher than Niagara Falls. There are several viewpoints to admire these falls and there is very little hiking required.
Perrine Coulee Falls is another stunning waterfall in the area and is actually one of the tallest waterfalls in Idaho. You can capture incredible views of this waterfall right from Twin Fall’s Centennial Waterfront Park.
This breathtaking Idaho waterfall drops nearly 200 feet. And while you can always view the waterfall from below, there are viewpoints from above on the Canyon Rim Trail and at the Canyon Crest Event Center.
Just a short drive southeast of Twin Falls is Cauldron Linn Falls, also known as Star Falls. This is an extremely powerful waterfall and quite beautiful.
Cauldron Linn Falls are not as popular and well known as others near Twin Falls, and they do require a bit more effort to reach. Be aware that the road can be a bit rough to reach these falls and spring is the best time to visit as this is when Cauldron Linn Falls tend to roar.
Approximately 30 miles west of Twin Falls is Ritter Island State Park. Tucked away in this beautiful area you will find Minnie Miller Falls.
These falls are named after Minnie Miller, the first person to build structures on the island. These falls are actually a spring but they look just like a waterfall and are absolutely stunning. I strongly recommend a visit to this entire state park.
No matter which waterfalls you choose to chase near Twin Falls, you need a place to relax and rest at the end of the day. Just steps away from the Snake River Canyon Rim is this guest suite that is perfect for a long weekend getaway.
This apartment is located above the home’s garage and is perfect for a solo adventure or for a couple’s getaway. There is one bedroom and one bathroom in the rental and it is beautifully decorated.
There is also a kitchenette and space to just sit back and relax before another day of adventure.
Plus, you will enjoy private access to the suite, free Wi-Fi, and lots of natural light. It is easy to see why this is the perfect vacation rental in Idaho.
Are you ready for time away in Twin Falls chasing waterfalls? It’s the perfect long weekend itinerary.
