This Rustic Cabin Campground In Hawaii May Just Be Your New Favorite Destination
With so many incredible lodging options available across the six main Hawaiian Islands — including luxury resorts, sleek hotels, affordable vacation rentals, and amazing bed and breakfasts — you might have a tough time deciding where to stay. If you’d like to stay off the beaten path, however, there is no better spot to stay than Namakanipaio. This Big Island cabin campground is perfectly rustic, and you’ll want to plan your getaway as soon as possible.
Located within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, three miles from Volcano House, is the beautiful Namakanipaio campsite, nestled in a eucalyptus grove 4,000 feet above sea level.
The 10 one-room wooden camper cabins were recently refurbished with new flooring and beds, and can sleep up to four people. The 200-square foot cabins are home to one full size bed, and two twin beds (bunk beds).
While there are no bathrooms in the cabins, visitors have use of the community campground facilities, including a renovated bathroom with hot showers and toilets.
Either way, Namakanipaio is the perfect destination from which to explore the phenomenal Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to one of the world’s most active volcanoes, Kilauea.
