This unbelievable building was built in February of 1927 and has been wowing visitors ever since. It is an absolute gem and a must-see if you’re on the island of Oahu.

The hotel, when all was said and done, cost $4 million dollars to be built. Today, that same price tag would be $64.5 million dollars!

The resort was six stories high and offered 400 rooms. Today, with new additions, the hotel now offers 528 rooms that you can reserve.

It was iconic and became a premier beach destination for visitors traveling worldwide. The hotel briefly closed operations to the public during WWII, when it was leased by the Navy as a major rest and relaxation center for the Navy personnel.

On 15 acres, it was the perfect destination for those flying in from the mainland, as more and more visitors traveled by plane instead of boat.

They offer a weekly historic tour of the property on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. This a great way to learn more about this stunning building and the history behind it.
