There’s a gorgeous little trail on Maui that circles a wildlife sanctuary. The easy Kealia Pond Boardwalk walks around this beautiful area while exploring the interesting and diverse coastal wetlands. Take an hour and bring your loved ones to visit this fascinating and wondrous spot.
The trail takes you through a National Wildlife Refuge where you can spot local bird and fish species up close and personal.
Much of the walk parallels Sugar Beach. You’ll wind through bogs and sandy areas as you walk down the boardwalk.

You’ll only come across about 26 feet of elevation gain, so this is very easy to accomplish — even with a stroller! There’s no shade, however, so plan either sun protection or hitting this trail in the morning or later afternoon.
