High Shoals Falls in Georgia is one of the most spectacular swimming holes in the state, that has remained much of a hidden gem throughout the years.
This refreshing swimming hole in Northern Georgia is part of a "two-waterfalls-for-the-hike-of-one" deal in nearby Helen.
The High Shoals Trail between Hiawassee and Helen is a beautiful hiking opportunity that takes you throughout the vibrant greenery of the forest.
Simple and serene, the trail is fairly easy and is around 2.5 miles round-trip, but once you make it to the swimming hole, it’ll seem like the perfect way to work up a sweat.
There are two waterfalls along this trail—Blue Hole Falls and High Shoals, but the swimming hole that deserves your attention is Blue Hole Falls.
Right below Blue Hole Falls is a pristine, waterfall-fed swimming hole that is deep and delightful.
While it may seem like summertime will bring the temperatures up a notch, the water is still refreshingly cool and perfect for a splash.
Bring the family to Blue Hole Falls and see for yourself what makes this waterfall pool the perfect place to spend a summer day.
Keep in mind that the High Shoals Trail is a protected area and being careful of the vegetation in the surrounding space is important. The address for High Shoals Falls in Georgia is 1333 Indian Grave Gap Rd, Hiawassee, GA 30546. While you're in the Hiawassee/Helen area, make sure to take a trip to this historic roadside snack shop, too.
