Monroe, Georgia, known as the antiques capital of the state, offers a variety of thrift and antique stores perfect for treasure hunting.
One of our favorite hobbies is antique shopping. There's nothing more fun than searching for treasures amongst items at an antique shop or thrift store. You never know what you'll find, and at a store with a big selection, it almost feels like visiting a museum! Next time you're looking to seek out some vintage furniture, clothes, or decor, look no further than the antiques capital of Georgia: Monroe. This small city has a population of around 16,000 and boasts several fantastic thrift and antiques stores that are just perfect for hunting down whatever you're in search of. Here are a few of our favorite spots to go antique shopping:
1. Olive Branch Antiques & Home Decor: 113 N Broad St, Monroe, GA 30655
Olive Branch Antiques and Home Decor is located in the old Monroe Mercantile building. You'll find lots to explore here, including new and hand-crafted items as well as vintage pieces curated from all over the country.
2. Davis Street Antiques: 216 Davis St, Monroe, GA 30655,
You'll find all kinds of goodies at Davis Street Antiques. This place offers lots of furniture, plus home decor and collectibles.
3. FISH Thrift Store Monroe: 700 S Madison Ave, Monroe, GA 30655
FISH (Faith In Serving Humanity) is a thrift store and not an antique store, but there's a lot to see at the Monroe branch. With tons of clothes and furniture, plus special half-priced days, it's hard to walk out empty-handed!
4. The Cotton Depot Inc: 601 S Madison Ave, Monroe, GA 30655
The Cotton Depot is an antique mall located in an old mill. There are lots of booths specializing in everything from wedding decor to locally-produced artwork, and, of course, antiques.
5. Vintage Revival Antiques: 601 S Madison Ave #100, Monroe, GA 30655
Vintage Revival Antiques is the anchor store at The Cotton Depot. In addition to used and new home decor items and furniture, you can also pick up architectural antiquities like barn wood and old doorknobs!
6. Hodge Podge Antique & Vintage: 600 S Broad St, Monroe, GA 30655
Another spot located in an old mill is Hodge Podge Antiques, where you'll find, well, a hodge podge of items. There are tons of dealers here offering up a variety of new and used goods.
7. Pickers Paradise Antique Mall: 147 Etten Dr, Monroe, GA 30655
Last but not least, Pickers Paradise Antique Mall has over 200 vendors selling all kinds of treasure, including records, artwork, and furniture.
There's a lot to do in Monroe and it's definitely worth a visit for many reasons, but one thing is for sure: it's the antiques capital of Georgia!
