The entire Atlanta metropolitan area is growing in leaps and bounds, and the city seems to be spreading farther and farther out geographically. It can feel hard to get a moment's peace when you're traveling to the Atlanta suburbs, but one place that still manages to retain its small-town charm despite rapid growth is Holly Springs, GA. The city is in Cherokee County, right outside of Woodstock, and has grown tremendously over the last few decades, but still feels like a smaller town than it really is... just with all the conveniences you'd expect from a city of around 16,000 people.
Due to the city's massive population growth over the last few years, plans are in the works to develop a new Holly Springs Town Center.
" target="_blank">Holly Springs Town Center is designed to be a throwback to walkable Main Street areas of the past, where shops and restaurants close by, and there's an amphitheater and market plaza for special events.
The city hosts a variety of events throughout the year, with festivals and markets for changing seasons and holidays.
Like many towns in this area, Holly Springs built up around the railroad lines.
The historic train depot remains here today and is typically available for rent for private events.
Editor's Note: At the time of publication, the train depot is undergoing renovations and not available for rent.
This is such a serene town with a rich history and much to enjoy.
J.B. Owens Park is great for some time outside. The 33-acre park has a playground and trails to explore.
Craving a bite to eat? Sidelines Grille is a local chain that has a wonderful location in Holly Springs.
