South Georgia doesn’t get a ton of love. Many travelers, and even lifetime residents, have a tendency to act like the state line ends a little south of Savannah. Skipping out on the area south of that, though, is a mistake: there’s a lot to see down there! One of our favorite small towns in South Georgia is Waycross. While it has a population of 13,000 and is one of the larger cities in the region, it’s fairly remote and dwarfed by the cities farther north.
