Each year, Gibbs Gardens opens in late February to showcase its earliest springtime blossoms: daffodils and tulips.
Every two weeks, over 60 varieties of early, mid, and late blooming daffodils make their debut. That amounts to six full weeks of gorgeous daffodil blooms!
This year, 370,000 additional blooms were planted, adding even more volume to the millions of bulbs already in the ground. Moreover, daffodil bulbs divide every year, doubling the amount of the past season.
As you make your way through the garden, you'll be positively amazed by the spectrum of yellow that surrounds you. White, peach, and deep gold are just a few of the color varieties.
The owner, designer, and developer of Gibbs Gardens, Jim Gibbs explains his vision for the bounty of blooms: "We planted the new bulbs in a unique design to give visitors the experience of daffodil blossoms
arrayed in 10-foot-wide rivers of color—flowing waves of golden yellow blossoms covering acres and acres of hillsides."
But that's not all! Visit in mid-March and you can also look forward to spotting a rainbow of tulips.
In addition to the soft cherry blossoms, you'll also notice forsythia,
quince, spiraea, and dogwood trees begin to bloom.
