As soon as fall rolls around, Georgia opens itself up to new possibilities for adventure. Not only is there a different type of beauty in nature when compared to spring and summer, but there is also an entirely new way to see the state. There is one autumn adventure in Georgia, however, that is the most beautiful way to enjoy the fall season.
One of the most beautiful places in Georgia comes alive as soon as the weather gets crisper and the sun begins to set earlier.
Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground, Georgia is truly a spectacular place to be when autumn rolls around.
The highlight for visitors to Gibbs Gardens in the fall are the blossoming Japanese Maple trees, which are flush with all different kinds of color.
There are over 2,000 Japanese Maples trees within these gardens, and 150 different varieties, which all come alive during the autumn months to shower brilliant color schemes.
Guests can grab a bite to eat from the Arbor Cafe on the grounds and eat under the tree canopy in Arbor Grove.
The best part about this garden in the fall is that the Maple trees don’t just bloom once and the show is over…
…instead, these trees will change color week to week, which means you can visit numerous times and have an entirely different experience.
Imagine strolling through the gardens, bundled in your favorite sweater…the hues of vibrant oranges and reds lighting up the sky in every direction.
There are even a few calendar events within the fall months that specifically showcase the beautiful Japanese Maple trees.
Spend a few afternoons this year traipsing the grounds of this garden for a true autumn experience that we are lucky to find only in Georgia.
The address for Gibbs Gardens is 1987 Gibbs Dr, Ball Ground, GA 30107. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Make sure to follow Gibbs Gardens on their Facebook Page or website to make sure the Japanese Maples will be in bloom during your visit.
