The Peach State is heaven for nature lovers. There are so many beautiful state parks in Georgia that it’s hard to keep track of them all! One of our favorites is Fort Mountain State Park near the Chatsworth and Ellijay area. The park is perhaps most famous for the mysterious stone wall that was most likely built by Native Americans around the year AD 500. However, there’s much more to see in this 4,000-acre oasis. This is one of our favorite state parks for hiking in Georgia. You’ll find more than 60 miles of trails in this mountaintop paradise!
