There are beautiful trails all over Georgia, from our southern tip up to the border with North Carolina and Tennessee. However, North Georgia is considerably more mountainous than the lower half of the state, so it’s not surprising that most of the most popular trails are tucked away up north. Sure, the elevation changes and gorgeous mountain vistas do make for amazing hikes, don’t get us wrong. That doesn’t mean there aren’t great trails in South Georgia that are just as worthy of exploration, though! One of the Peach State’s most underrated parks is the magnificent Crooked River State Park in St. Marys. It may not have mountains or rocky scrambles, but it does have some beautiful scenery, particularly along the Sempervirens Trail.
