Did you know that we have some of the richest people in the world right here in Atlanta? That’s right. Thanks in part to some of the biggest industries and companies which are housed in the great state of Georgia, we have some huge financial titans living right in our backyard. In no particular order, here are the richest people in Atlanta.
1. Ted Turner, 60—Net Worth: $2.2 Billion
Turner spent a good chunk of his life as the Vice Chairman of Time Warner Inc. Although it wasn't his salary that landed him as one of the wealthiest people in Atlanta. Instead, it was his immense stock ownership in Time Warner Inc.
2. Bernard Marcus, 69—Net Worth: $3.8 Billion
Bernard Marcus earned his wealth by being the co-founder, and ex Chairman of the Board, for Home Depot. He didn't always imagine himself founding the home improvement store, and actually went to school to study pharmaceuticals.

4. Gary Rollins, 71—Net Worth Combined: Around $6 Billion
Have you ever seen the Orkin pest control trucks in your neighborhood? Thanks to brothers Randall and Gary Rollins, we're getting rid of termites one-by-one. The brothers own Rollins Inc., which Orkin falls under, not to mention oil and gas company RPC as well.
5. Summerfield K. Johnston Jr., 66—Net Worth: $1.1 Billion
Johnston Jr., is known as the Chairman and former CEO of Coca-Cola Enterprises. He can thank this delicious soft drink for his massive fortune, as he still has substantial holdings in Coke Enterprises.
6. Arthur M. Blank, 56—Net Worth: $2.8 Billion
Arthur M. Blank owes most of his fortune to being the co-founder of Home Depot, but also made quite a killing after buying the Atlanta Falcons for a cool $545 million.
7. Jim Kennedy, 68—Net Worth: $10.8 Billion
Jim Kennedy is Chairman and former CEO of the media conglomerate Cox Enterprises. In case you didn't know, Cox Enterprises focuses on TV, cable TV, radio, newspaper publishing and other entertainment outlets.

Speaking of Cox Enterprises, Anne Cox Chambers makes the list for actually owning the media mogul with her family.

Dan Cathy is Chairman and CEO of fast-food chicken favorite Chick-fil-A, and also is part owner with his brother, Bubba. Together they sling some of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the biz.
