Whether you’re a fan of planes, history, or classic diner food, you’re sure to fall in love with Bessie’s Diner. Modeled after diners from decades ago, it boasts a charming retro feel. But that’s not the eatery’s only theme. Through décor and memorabilia, the diner also celebrates the history of flight, which is fitting since it’s located at an airport. Oh, and did we mention you can watch planes take off while you dine? Take a look:
Located at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville, you can fly in or drive in to Bessie’s Diner.
No matter what it takes to get to Bessie’s Diner, it’s worth it since the eatery boasts great grub, spectacular surroundings, and amazing, close-up views of the planes coming and going.
Bessie’s Diner opened its doors in January 2019.
Despite being fairly new, it boasts an undeniable vintage vibe. And that’s no accident – it’s modeled after a 1950s diner.
Also prevalent throughout the diner are nods to aviation, including photos of Bessica Raiche, which is who the diner is named after. Bessica or Bessie is credited with being the first woman to fly an airplane solo.
The aviation theme is only made better by the fact that, while dining, you can watch actual planes in action.
Speaking of dining, the grub at Bessie’s Diner won’t disappoint!
Peruse the menu and, in addition to lots of aviation slang, you’ll find a tasty assortment that includes all-day breakfast and lunchtime classics.
In addition to menu staples, the diner features lots of specials, such as seasonally-inspired pancakes.
Between the food, digs, and views, a visit to Bessie's Diner is bound to be an upgrade from a typical meal out.
