Open Streets just kicked off in the Granary District! Every Friday and Saturday in September, 500 West between 700 South and 800 South is transformed into a vibrant pedestrian promenade, featuring food trucks, live music, and various activities. Why not keep the party going and make it a brewery crawl? Some of the best breweries in town are around this neighborhood.

Kiitos Brewing

A great place to start, and located only a block away from Open Streets. Current brews on tap include a guava sour, salt-n-pickle, and coffee cream ale. If you happen to visit them on Saturday, Sept. 21, wish them a happy 7th birthday and visit their Crafts & Drafts art market between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Scion Cider Bar

Next up, hop on the 9 Line Trail to Scion Cider Bar. I suggest getting a flight so you can sample a few different options. If you need to fuel up at this point, head next door to Central 9th Market for a staff meal which usually consists of meat and three sides.

HK Brewing Collective

Tucked away behind the Tesla dealership on 300 West is HK Brewing Collective. I appreciate coming here, as someone who doesn’t drink, because they offer a wide range of non-alcoholic cocktails, ales, and of course, Han’s Kombuchas. What sets their kombucha apart is not only the unique flavors (like pineapple cactus nectar and grapefruit rosemary) but the gentle fermentation process, which gives you light bubbles without a strong vinegary taste.

T.F. Brewing & Fisher Brewing Company

Saved these two for last since they’re open the latest on weekends (midnight). They both have great outdoor spaces to take advantage of the last days of summer. Pick up a game of cornhole at T.F., then grab a seat on the new rooftop at Fisher for a city view.
