This Restaurant In Tennessee Used To Be A Mill And You’ll Want To Visit

Evins Mill is located in Smithville, Tennessee and is truly a gem of a historic site. The history of the place stretches deep into the 1800s, with its first record inked in 1824. It has since changed hands multiple times, but we believe it has truly come into its own now - a place you'll love to have dinner, a darling retreat you'll never want to leave. Plus, if you stay overnight, meals are included!

The mill was first known as Lockhart's Mill in 1824, as recorded by the Tennessee Land Grant. Although the spot changed hands over time, Edgar Evins, was probably the most well-known of the owners. He came by his wealth and fame as a state senator and his solid status as a businessman.

Over the next couple of decades, the working mill was used as everything from a wedding reception site to political gatherings. The land was eventually given to Vanderbilt University.

The spot was later used as a space for business, even serving as a quiet retreat for Christian recording artists, Amy Grant's famed "Lead Me On" music video was actually recorded here, filmed at the foot of the stunning Carmac Falls.

Speaking of the falls, the space is now used as a retreat center, utilized as a restaurant and a favorite place for wedding receptions.

The Solstice is their luxury lodge, recently opened and positively stunning if you're looking for a place to stay far from the city. This is one beautiful spot that you'll never forget. Honestly, you'll be shocked that a restaurant is one of the sweetest things about this lovely place.

Take a trip to Smithville, folks - Evins Mill is as gorgeous as it sounds. And wildly worth it.

Isn't Evins Mill absolutely stunning? We're in love with the spot, and you will be too!
