The South Dakota Restaurant That’s One Of The Most Unique In America
Rapid City has some great restaurants, but there's one that's truly unique. You've got to check this out!
The Dean Building, on the corner of 4th and Main Street, was once an auto repair shop.
Harriet and Oak opened here in April, 2017. Owners Aaron and Tina Neiman have plenty of experience in the restaurant business. They also own two Green Bean Coffeehouse locations, Blackbird Espresso and 8th Avenue Bakery.
The dining area is bright and airy, with plenty of seating. The tables were built by the owners, who used some of the ceiling timbers to create them. A loft area above provides even more seating.
Also...there's a Volkswagen Bus right inside the dining room. Yes, that's right. A Volkswagen Bus. It's there because it's fun, and also as a nod to the building's automotive history.
Harriet and Oak roasts its own coffee beans, and the result? Fresh, delicious coffee that will make your morning special.
The waffles here are to die for, and they come in lots of varieties. They're offered on Wednesdays and weekends.
How about a homemade cinnamon roll with your coffee?
Or, enjoy a doughnut from 8th Avenue Bakery - the restaurant offers these tasty gems up often.
There's a great selection of sandwiches made from fresh ingredients to choose from for lunch.
Try a tasty Buddha Bowl. This is the Thai bowl, which comes with marinated tofu, carrot, purple cabbage, quinoa, bean sprouts, cilantro and peanut sauce.
Stop by Harriet and Oak for breakfast or lunch. It's open Monday - Friday from 6:30 AM to 6 PM; Saturday 6:30 AM to 4 PM; Sunday 8 AM to 4 PM. The address is 329 Main Street, Rapid City.
