Charlestown is a tiny town by the sea that happens to be home to one of Rhode Island's most highly rated restaurants. The Cove is an unassuming eatery, but it's full of character, not to mention the great food and service that keep people coming back for more. And while the dining room is temporarily closed, all your favorite dinner specials (and their famous cupcakes) are still available for takeout.

The Cove is located on the main strip in Charlestown, where it has remained since its opening in October of 2000.

Since then, the restaurant has earned its reputation as a warm, welcoming, family-friendly establishment.

Their mission is to make everyone feel like family, and it's safe to say they succeed.

But, while a friendly team and a great atmosphere is nice, people come to restaurants for the food... and the cuisine here is top notch.

The Cove isn't trying to reinvent the wheel, just to serve hearty meals you'll love.

The menu consists mainly of seafood appetizers, sandwiches, and wraps, but there are also plenty of hearty dinner entrees to choose from.

The steaks, pastas, and chicken dishes are out of this world.

Under normal circumstances, The Cove is open for lunch and dinner daily.

They also have regular specials, which they create from locally sourced ingredients.

Aside from their hearty entrees, The Cove is best known for their scrumptious cupcakes.

They have a rotating selection that includes plenty of seasonally appropriate (and decorated) cupcakes. And they taste even better than they look.

While The Cove's legendary patio is currently empty, it won't be long before it's filled with happy Rhode Islanders soaking up the sun.

In the meantime, the restaurant is serving takeout dinners daily from 4 - 8 p.m.
