If you've never been to Aurora, Indiana along the Ohio River, then a meal at Third and Main is a great excuse to pay it a visit.
The historic building, known as the Coachlight Building, dates back to 1893 and much of that history has been maintained in the current, locally-owned restaurant.
The interior of Third and Main is cozy and inviting, with exposed stone and a large, wooden bar.
The walls are filled with photos from the past, showing off both the history of the building and Aurora.
You can even catch a glimpse of the original liquor license! The dining room seats 60, so it's large enough to take your time while enjoying your meal but quaint enough to feel right at home.
The main attraction on the menu at Third and Main is beef, although everything that they create is delicious and seasonally planned.
The steaks are all hand cut, aged, and perfectly marbled.
Their burgers are a delicious combination of certified Angus beef and short ribs, ground fresh from one of the top artisan butchers in the country.
If you are really hungry and think you can handle it, go for the 22 oz. Bone-In Ribeye.
This massive steak is juicy and flavorful... and also happens to be about the same size as your head.
The menu at Third and Main does change with the seasons and fresh offerings, but you can always expect to find a wide variety of beef, chicken, and seafood options, as well as tasty sides and desserts.
The seafood is just as wonderful here as the beef; so much so that the Shrimp and Grits are practically legendary!
Pair it with a glass of wine or a cocktail from the bar and savor every historic moment and delicious bite.
The ambiance at Third and Main makes your dining experience truly memorable. The patio is delightful on a sunny day or warm evening, and the service both inside and outside of the restaurant is superb.
