This Italian Restaurant Serves Up The Most Unique Meal in Nashville

When you think of Italian restaurants, you probably think of garlic bread and spaghetti and that ever-popular fettuccine alfredo. Mangia, one of our favorite restaurants in Nashville, upends everything you originally assumed about Italian eating in the south. Take a look, fall in love, visit for yourself, and let us know your favorite entree in the comments below — not that you can really pick just one, of course.

Mangia is not JUST an Italian restaurant, folks. It is what's known as a "focacceria," which means the entirety of the restaurant's menu is based on the herb-encrusted, decadent Mediterranean bread.

Mangia is actually the only focacceria in Nashville, which means that you can enjoy delicious sandwiches or pizzas with the homemade bread. Not only that — all meals can be ordered gluten-free. It's a delicious AND inclusive restaurant.

Mangia made a name for itself in sold-out family-style dinners before opening its permanent Berry Hill location in 2016, and the restaurant still hosts on Friday and Saturday night. It's a great way to treat yourself alongside your community.

You're not going to find classic Italian dishes on the menu, but instead sides of salad and fried risotto balls. The menu pivots around focaccia, so you best be ready to eat a little bit of bread while you're over for dinner.

You can visit for yourself at 701 Craighead Street, in the Berry Hill neighborhood of Nashville. Family-style meals are $50 a person, and you'll want to make sure you make a reservation! Happy munching, friends.

PS: This beautiful Tennessee hike is well-worth the effort. Maybe check it out before dinner?
