Milwaukee is full of incredible restaurants, but sometimes you need to get away from the city. This restaurant and tavern in the quaint unincorporated town of Astico (near Columbus) is roughly an hour from Milwaukee, and so worth the drive from the city.

This spot was formerly known as The Shamrock, but has since been turned into the rustic restaurant we know and love.

This restaurant might be out in the boonies, but they sure know how to party!

Since 1920, the establishment has been a gathering place for Wisconsinites near and far.

Their dining room turns into a stage and hosts monthly performances.

Outside, the main stage is holds huge shows and is packed throughout the summer months.

Their space is also available to rent for private events. Many have even gotten married on Old Rock's main stage!

When the weather is nice, their outdoor space is the place to be.

Featuring a beer garden, horseshoe pits, and volleyball nets, the fun is endless! There are two large decks to hang out on and both have a great view of the stage.

...and their food is always perfect home cooking.

Old Rock has many classic comfort foods, from tater tot casserole, classic sandwiches, wings, pizzas, and many other hearty dishes that are absolutely delicious. To-go orders can be made for a small $2.00 charge.

Of course, the specials are never-ending.

As you would expect from any Wisconsin restaurant, their Friday fish fry draws in many. Every night of the week holds a new special, from all-you-can-eat wings to taco Tuesdays.

This spot is the epitome of Midwestern charm.
