Cold weather is upon us, which may have you craving calorie-filled comfort foods. Donuts are one of the most classic comfort foods and we have plenty of places to get them here in Maryland. Listed below are 12 of the the most delectable donut shops in the state, all of which will have you drooling like Homer Simpson.

1) Krumpe's Do-Nut Shop, Hagerstown

3) Donut Shack, Severna Park

Located on Ritchie Highway, the Donut Shack has the best old-fashioned donuts you'll ever have the pleasure of eating. Some may say they're addicting, and I don't disagree.

4) Paradise Donuts, Bel Air

Even donut snobs agree that Arundel Donuts are delicious. They also have the best apple fritters you'll ever have the privilege of tasting.

6) DeVage's Subs & Donuts, Salisbury

Along with subs and sandwiches, this little shop also makes homemade cake donuts. Pictured here is their Orioles-themed variety, which they call O's donuts.

7) Laurel Tavern Donuts, Laurel

These melt-in-your-mouth donuts are to die for. Though this shop looks super tiny, that only proves that some of the best things come in the smallest packages.

8) Carlson's Donuts, Severn

Locals rave about Carlson's for their soft, fresh donuts. Careful, once you go you'll want to come back again, and again, and again...
