Maine’s Pizza By Alex Has Been Owned By The Same Family For 6 Decades And It Was Just Named Best In The State

We've spent a good part of the last year re-evaluating how we eat out in Maine. We've certainly been cooking at home to help us stay within our budget, but we've also made a real effort to support local businesses. In doing that we've found some new favorites. We're shocked that this beloved local pizza spot wasn't already on our list! It's been around for more than 60 years and one taste will tell you why. And it was recently voted best in the state by Mashed.

Pizza by Alex, located in Biddeford, has been serving some of the best pizza in the state for over 60 years. And it was just named the best in the state, so you can be pretty certain this is good stuff!

They soon outgrew the space and moved to their present spot on Alfred Street. They've got a large, neon retro-looking sign right outside their corner location and inside things are casual. We love how old-school things feel.

You won't find credit card machines or internet access here. But you will find an ATM so you can access the cash that will get you a perfectly delicious slice of pie!

Pizza by Alex is still owned by the Mantis family and they've kept things easy. The only item on the menu is pizza!

And it's great pizza!

In addition to serving just pizza, there's only one size. The Greek-style pizza is 10-inches and personal-sized.

That means each person you visit with can get exactly what they want.

We love the simple options, but there are plenty of ingredients to choose from.

And the personal size of the pizzas also means you can try lots of different pies. Just make sure you've got different tastes in your party.
