The Lobster Roll At Trevett’s Country Store In Maine Is About As Authentic As They Come

Trevett Country Store in Maine offers some of the best lobster rolls in the state, making it a must-visit spot.

If you've lived or vacationed in Maine for even a little bit of time you know that there's no shortage of great seafood to enjoy. And perhaps no other seafood is as synonymous with Maine as lobster. You can find it in every corner of the state, from the coast to further inland, and it's almost guaranteed to be the best you've ever had. One of the best things about the quality of our lobster is that it's just about impossible to pick a favorite and, when we try, it's almost always in an unexpected place. Like this one!

To find the perfect lobster roll you'll first need to head toward the midcoast. Not exactly Boothbay, but yust nearby is the small town of Trevett. With a population of under 600 people and a drawbridge that's still hand-cranked, you might miss this little place if you're not looking for it.

But, the Trevett Country Store has some serious longevity. It's been around in some form or another for decades.

Today it operates as a small store, the local post office, and an eatery.

Inside, things are simple. A few racks of snacks and plenty of drinks.

But look closer and you'll see that the menu has everything you need.

These lobster rolls are some of the best in the state. First, they're perfectly Maine-made with chunks of lobster meat and just the right amount of mayo.

Each one is served with a bag of chips and we recommend making it a real meal by grabbing up one of their locally-made brownies.

If you're in the mood for something else, check out the fried haddock sandwich.

And the clam strips basket is reported to be some of the best clams visitors have ever tried.

This place is something special and, while it could be considered out-of-the way to some, it's a must-visit in Maine.

Trevett's Country Store is open every day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. But, remember that freshest lobster rolls are seasonal and you'll want to enjoy them in the summer. While they don't seem to have a website, you can reach Trevett's Country Store on 207-633-1140.

And once you've tried the lobster roll at this little spot, consider a much, much bigger one by seeing if you can finish the world's biggest lobster roll at Taste of Maine.
