There’s A Cheese Haven Hiding In Maine And It’s Everything You’ve Dreamed And More
Eat More Cheese in Belfast, Maine, offers a vast selection of cheeses and expert knowledge, making it a must-visit for cheese lovers.
The smell of fresh cheese is unmistakable. From mild to pungent and creamy to soft, there are so many different types of cheese that it can be hard to keep track of where it comes from, how it's made, and how you're supposed to eat it. That's why we love this midcoast shop. Not only do they stock a huge variety of cheeses, but they also hold a vast amount of knowledge related to each one.
Eat More Cheese started as an easy date night idea. A movie, some cheese, and a DVD made for an inexpensive way to spend an evening. Fast forward a few years and couple, Tony and Natalia, had left their 9 to 5 jobs and opened this midcoast cheese shop.
What started in a small location behind an art gallery, expanded in 2012 to become an important part of downtown Belfast, right next to Chase's Daily.
They stock anywhere between 75 and 100 cheeses from around the world at any given time.
And while we love that with just one trip you can go home with something indescribably delicious, what we most appreciate is their knowledge.
Everything here is cut to order, then wrapped in French-made cheese paper.
In some ways, a visit is more educational than visiting any museum!
And, of course, you'll always walk away with a delicious cheese. Whether is unique cheeses like this Stinking Bishop...
...or Jumi's various Swiss cheeses.
They can create incredible boards for customers.
Which means you now know what you can bring for Thanksgiving. You're welcome!
In addition to cheeses, Eat More Cheese carries a variety of accompaniments such as wine, chocolate, and bread.
Stocking local is always important.
Come in, grab some wine and locally baked bread, and you've got the makings of a great night!
