They've been at it for nearly a century, and the locals will tell you that they really are that good! It's one of my favorite restaurants in Louisiana, and I'm confident that after you try one of these sinfully delicious pies, it'll become one of your favorites, too!

For many driving along Highway 71 from Alexandria to Opelousas, stopping off at Lea's Lunchroom is a no-brainer.

The family-owned diner has been a tradition for many since it opened in 1928.

And it's still a family-run business, nearly 100 years later! In 2008, the youngest grandson even opened up a second Lea's location in Monroe, making these incredible homemade pies even more accessible.

Serving up hot plate lunches and traditional breakfast fare, the savory menu alone is enough of a reason to swing by.

Doesn't that look like Thanksgiving on a plate? Lea's is known for hearty meals, and the signature ham sandwich is perhaps the one thing that put them on the map. Well, that and the pies!
