The Catfish Platter From Catfish Charlie’s In Louisiana Is So Big, It Could Feed An Entire Family

One of the many wonderful things about Louisiana restaurants is that the portions are usually pretty generous. That’s certainly the case when you step into this wonderful establishment in Monroe. Next time you want to fill up on some of the best catfish in Louisiana, head over to Catfish Charlie’s where they're serving up some of the largest portions in Louisiana.

When it comes to fried seafood, few can compare to Catfish Charlie’s over in Monroe, Louisiana.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Doug Wood, a local who comes from a long line of restauranteurs. It seems as though running a restaurant runs in his blood!

Even though Catfish Charlie’s is in northern Louisiana, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the swamps of Cajun Country when you walk through the doors.

It’s a humble, no-frills, all-flavors kind of joint. It’s a casual, family-friendly restaurant with a fun, quirky vibe to it. Take a minute to admire the unique decor on the walls. It’s not every day you see boat motors as decoration!

As you may have guessed from the name, Catfish Charlie’s specializes in catfish.

Specifically, the thin and crispy catfish. It’s certainly a fan favorite and one of the many menu items that have earned them a top spot on the Monroe dining scene.

The menu is full of tasty dishes you’ll be tempted to try.

From po’boys to pasta, Catfish Charlie’s does it all.

One of the most popular starters is the onion rings. But these aren’t just any onion rings.

These bad boys are purple onion rings! You don’t see that every day.

Other popular appetizers are the fried pickle slices and the homemade mozzarella sticks...

...but you may want to step outside your culinary comfort zone and try the frog legs (pictured above).

Of course, you’ve got to try the catfish.

It’s my favorite and I hope it will be yours, too!

The best part is that you can choose how many fillets you want.

Two is probably the most popular, but you can get up to six if you’re really hungry! Or go with a combo basket and choose from jumbo shrimp or oysters to accompany your catfish fillet.

Visit the Catfish Charlie's website to see a full menu, and be sure to follow Catfish Charlie's on Facebook so you don't miss out on any specialty dishes. Are you ready to take a road trip over to Catfish Charlie's? I know I am.
