Tin Roof is open for just four hours a day, and what this takeout eatery lacks in ambiance and comfortable seating it makes up for with its food.
Tucked away in a Kahului strip mall, Tin Roof Maui is many things: unassuming, tiny, local, mouthwateringly delicious, and extremely popular.
Of course, you’ll also find other island classics like saimin, garlic noodles, and mac salad.
If you’re searching for quality, yet affordable, local food on Maui, Tin Roof is the place to go. So, what are you waiting for? Add this eatery to your bucket list immediately, then visit the next time you find yourself in Kahului.
Not sure what to order? The mochiko chicken is brined overnight in gochujang marinade, then battered and fried, and refried to order. It’s then topped with a miso sauce, gochujang and roasted garlic aioli and housemade furikake mochi.
But Simeon’s favorite? That’d be the pork belly.
Opened in 2016 by two-time James Beard semifinalist and fan-favorite of Bravo’s "Top Chef" season ten in 2012 Sheldon Simeon, Tin Roof is easily one of the island’s hottest lunch destinations.
This is island-style comfort food at its finest, and no matter what you order, your taste buds will surely be satisfied.
The unassuming eatery is known for their unique kau kaui tins. From pork belly, and chop steak to garlic shrimp and poke, each bowl is served with a choice of white rice, brown rice, kale, or garlic noodles and is sure to satisfy your taste buds.
