The Food At This Rustic Hawaii Restaurant Is Almost Too Good To Be True

The Pig And The Lady in Honolulu offers a unique dining experience with modern Vietnamese cuisine in a rustic chic setting.

As the most isolated population center on earth and a true melting pot of cultures, the Hawaiian Islands are home to some of the world’s greatest cuisine. Not only will you find local eateries focusing on Hawaiian dishes but you'll find American, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Portuguese restaurants as well. You'll even find modern Vietnamese cuisine — if you know where to look that is. If you've never visited this iconic Honolulu restaurant, you're missing out.

Welcome to The Pig And The Lady, a truly unique restaurant located in the heart of Honolulu’s Chinatown.

Featuring globally-accented modern Vietnamese cuisine in a rustic chic setting, after just one visit, this will become your new favorite ethnic restaurant.

Though the exterior is modest, once you step inside, you'll find yourself in a rustic chic paradise.

With exposed brick, ambient lighting, and natural wood, you'll feel right at home here.

Don't mind the communal tables — this lively restaurant is one of Honolulu's best and you'll want to rave about it with your fellow patrons.

When The Pig And The Lady opened in 2015, it was recognized as Honolulu's best new restaurant and has since become an iconic staple of the city's food scene.

You'll even find a second location at Ward Village and a booth at farmers' markets across the island.

Led by twice-nominated James Beard semifinalist Chef Andrew Le, the restaurant specializes in providing a modern, fresh take on traditional Southeast Asian food — utilizing local products, of course.

Enjoy a family meal in the truest sense of the words here: not only is The Pig And The Lady a family-owned business but the menu is best enjoyed family-style.

Salads, vegetables, pasta, meat, and seafood all find a place on the ever-changing menu here.

Start your meal with a signature craft cocktail like this vibrant P&L Sour made with 100 proof bonded bourbon, lime, apricot, and tamarind.

You'll also find an extensive beer and wine list as well as non-alcoholic beverages.

On the lunch menu, you'll find a variety of salads, tiger style rice, and pho, but our absolute favorite is their bahn mi, a classic Vietnamese sandwich made with a single-serve baguette and topped with a variety of savory ingredients.

Don't forget to save room for dessert! In addition to a variety of sweet treats like malasadas, cream pies, cakes, and sundaes...

...you'll discover soft-serve you've ever tasted. Enjoy your choice of frozen custard, soft sorbet, or swirl. You can even order it in a waffle bowl or with Valrhona chocolate crinkle cookie — yum!

What are you waiting for? Step out of your comfort zone and visit this modern Vietnamese restaurant for a meal you'll never forget. We suggest making a reservation, though — this popular restaurant can get crazy busy!
